Dear Mr. Abbate:
As Mayor of the City of Los Angeles, I value the contributions of neighborhood
councils that have made this city great. The Sunland- Tujunga Neighborhood
Council is a shining example of the power of these councils. After reviewing the
efforts of the Sunland- Tujunga Neighborhood Council and its committees, I join
the community in opposition to the proposed Home Depot store in Sunland.
The Home Depot Corporation has shown disregard for the community that would
be most impacted by development on the former K-Mart store site. The Sunland-
Tujunga community should be involved in the developm'ent process of any
business that will occupy this space and impact the community's quality of life. I
am confident that the community will provide valuable input and reasonable
requests that will benefit everyone involved.
